Why Glynn Voted for Obama

Why I voted for Obama.

Last week Becca and I went to the early voting station and voted. Speaking for my self I voted for Obama for president and I wanted tell you why.

This evening we watched Obama’s 30min ad on the networks, I laid on the floor holding Jaxon I was sure that I had made the right decision.

I would; in the long run benefit more from an Obama administration than a McCain administration. Under an Obama administration my medical benefits would not be taxed as they would be under McCain. Since I do not make more than $200,000 my taxes would go down and even if I did make $200,000 I would only see a 3% increase the same rate that I would have seen as Clinton left office and for half of Bush’s first term

Both of my sons would not face the possibility of a draft with the unilateral foreign policy that McCain advocates and the possibility of escalating the war in Iraq.

I hope that an Obama administration was accountable to me and not to the party or individual donors, Obama’s opting out of the public finance system and taking direct donations with an average donation of less than $90 spread over millions of individuals holds him and his administration responsible to everyone and not some one.

Over the course of my life I have worked with a good number of individuals in the field of politics, for the first time I actually do have hope in an individual that they are real and they actually mean what they say. In my time working with people behind the scenes their true goals popped up in their demeanor and even in their rhetoric, In Obama I have looked for the tell tale signs that would indicate that he is something other than who he says he is and I have not been able to see any. From what I can surmise he is for real . I have worked with people that had direct interactions with Kennedy, Johnson and even FDR and the one thing that they always told me was … you could just tell…. I can just tell with him. I do not get that feeling with McCain any more.

I would have voted for McCain in 2000, at that time who he was and what he advocated resonated with me more than Gore. Over the last 8 years he has positioned himself farther and farther right in order to appease the base of the party; he left those things that were important to him behind in order to get the nomination.

In looking at these thing a myriad of other things I could not in good conscious for McCain. I just wanted to write this…..

Good thinking. I agree with you and I also voted for him. It can't be worse than is it now! and I have hope that it will be better, given time!
