Why I support the proposed Health Care Reform.

Let me start out by saying that yes I have “Read the bill” Of the 5 that are currently under consideration I read the one completely that most of the criticisms are derived from HR3200 and I support it.
With all of the shouting, and yelling going on about the proposed measure I want to preface my remarks that I believe in people over profit and there is always profit in insurance. The public option will be and act as a any other insurance company. The public option and the other reforms proposed in the bill will do what it is proposed to do. It will reduce overall expenditures and while preserving the market system and reduce insurance rates while expanding coverage. The bill and the structures set up in it provide for a sustainable future that the current system lacks.
The critics of the measure advocate a position of doing nothing and allowing the current system to limp along as it is. This position is unsustainable even by the critics own reports. With this in mind reform is needed. Those who advocate that we should do nothing are advocating a position that places insurance/corporate profits above individual’s lives; in short money is more important than people. To me this position is morally reprehensible. The concept that money is more important than the health and wellbeing and in short a person’s life is antithetical to what I hold dear as not only as an American and as a Christian.
Everyone has their own reasons for either supporting or not supporting reform the question; why choose which side? For me I choose people over profit, I support health care reform because it places people over profit.
