Mom has been visiting since last week and I've been working her out. We've been very busy for the 4th of July and just running around doing "Dallasey" things. We've done lots of riding around in the car with the boys.
On my birthday we drove up to Poor Richard's Cafe to have breakfast with my friend Leah. The boys were not happy with riding in the car and restless. Mom taught Izzy-boy how to play the alphabet game to distract him from picking on his brother and generally whining. Let me tell you, Grandma is a genius! I played this game all the time when I was a kid! I loved it! I guess I had forgotten all about it.
Soon everyone was in on the game, even Sweet-baby-J was pointing out the window at things and clapping when we found letters. Everyone was happy and content for the rest of the time in the car.
This is why I cherish visits from Grandma, she reminds me of those genius Mommy tricks.
